The Challenges:
- Main heating plant (dual Kewanee boiler system) originally located across Highway A1A - on the west side
- Underground pipes in boiler supply system started leaking
- Repairs were estimated to cost millions of dollars
- Impractical to design a vertical-flue system
ENERVEX Solution:
- New fourth-floor boiler system designed for parking garage (east side of highway) where property is located
- 11 Hydrotherm KN20 2,000 MBtu High-Efficiency condensing boilers
- Horizontal exhaust design prevents the use of a 22-inch pipe in front of the building
- Dual mechanical draft system: two RSIB500 Power Venters and venting through AL29-4c venting systems
- Continuous loop - air drawn from outside feeds all direct air intakes for the boilers
- Makes a 180 loop, then picks up the exhaust of each boiler, ultimately tying in to the dual RSIB500
- Exhaust to the outside through a plenum with decorative louver to hide termination
